Born in the heart of Mississippi, Nicklaus Jones rose from the red clay of the South with the confidence, refinement, and quiet strength of a true Southern gentleman. A graduate of Delta State University, Nicklaus was initiated into the Nu Eta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. in Spring 2001. During his collegiate years, he served as Keeper of Records before leading the chapter as Polemarch—experiences that deepened his appreciation for brotherhood, history, leadership, and legacy.
Style has always been an extension of Nicklaus’s identity. Raised in a family unafraid to embrace individuality, he learned that true style does not have to announce itself—it commands attention through confidence, presence, and an undeniable sense of self-worth.
“My family was this melting pot of confidently flashy individuals, but it was never loud. It was a quiet air of self-worth translated into style.”
After graduating from college, Nicklaus followed the path of countless Southern creatives before him and migrated to New York City. There, he discovered a city whose energy mirrored his own—bold yet intimate, polished yet unfiltered, tough with an unexpected softness. Over two decades later, New York continues to influence his approach to fashion, storytelling, and design.
“New York matches my energy. Every day, I walk out of my door into a place that is vibrant, layered, and completely unique. It is rough, but there is a softness to it.”
That fusion of Southern heritage and New York edge became the foundation of Pledge Party Apparel, a brand created to introduce a new perspective to Kappa Alpha Psi Apparel. Nicklaus recognized that the Greek-lettered marketplace often lacked the diversity, sophistication, and originality he wanted to wear. Much of the available paraphernalia felt manufactured and repetitive, leaving little room for personal style or contemporary expression.
Pledge Party Apparel became his response to what was missing.
“I wanted to create paraphernalia that I would actually wear—pieces that respected our history while still pushing the boundaries of style.”
Through original design, elevated craftsmanship, and a modern collegiate point of view, Pledge Party Apparel reimagines fraternity apparel for men who value history but refuse to be confined by tradition. The brand exists along the delicate line between honoring the legacy of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and advancing its visual language into the future.
The early years of Pledge Party Apparel served as both an introduction and an experiment. Nicklaus used that period to study his audience, understand their tastes, and refine the brand’s creative direction. While the vision was always clear, the insight gained from the men he was designing for allowed him to sharpen that vision and execute it with greater intention.
“This era of Pledge Party Apparel is the research, the information, and the vision finally being executed. The experimental phase is over.”
Expanding upon that vision, Nicklaus created The Krimson, a private, appointment-only Greek-lettered paraphernalia boutique concealed within a secret space in New York City. More than a retail destination, The Krimson is an intimate shopping experience where fashion, culture, heritage, and exclusivity converge.
The boutique’s address is revealed only to confirmed guests, transforming each appointment into a personal invitation into Nicklaus’s creative world. Within the space, traditional Greek-lettered paraphernalia is elevated through editorial presentation, refined styling, and carefully curated pieces designed for members of the Divine Nine who expect more from what they wear.
Together, Pledge Party Apparel and The Krimson represent two expressions of one singular vision. Pledge Party Apparel creates a new language for Kappa Alpha Psi style, while The Krimson offers a private world where the broader legacy of Black Greek-lettered culture can be experienced through fashion.
Both brands are rooted in history, strengthened by brotherhood, shaped by New York City, and guided by Nicklaus Jones’s belief that paraphernalia should never feel ordinary. It should carry the confidence of the person wearing it, reflect the legacy of the letters it represents, and possess a style powerful enough to stand on its own.
